Sheryl’s greatest achievement is the privilege of being a mother and grandmother!  She and her husband, John Giles, have a blended family of seven children and six grandchildren with another on the way.    Her “Guthrie-Lucas” children are Michael Lucas (BA, Hampton, physics; MS, Southeastern, IT Security); Joi Lucas Jones, MD (BA Spelman, physics; MD, Howard) and husband, Frank Jones; Maurice Lucas (BA, Morehouse, business) and wife, Rachel Kiner-Lucas.

Sheryl is immensely grateful and blessed to have been raised as a Guthrie … in a family that valued faith in God first; then hard work, intellectual curiosity, integrity, morality and commitment.  Mary and Willie were outstanding parents who provided the strong foundation that propelled Sheryl forward to awesome success in life.  Her favorite saying is “To God be the glory!”
